Be an All Star

Imperial Valley Girls Softball League wants YOU to tryout to be an IVGSL All Star.  All star players compete in post season tournaments with hopes of qualifying for Districts and the State tounrnaments where players will face the best youth softball players in California.

All Star Rules

  • Players must play in their age appropriate division, unless approved by the board. The goal is to make the strongest team possible for our league.
  • Players must make a commitment and be available to participate in all practices and tournaments.
  • Players must participate in all team functions, practices, team meetings and fundraisers, unless excused by the manager. Tournaments may be scheduled for every weekend from mid-May through mid-July. All Star players are expected to participate in ALL tournaments throughout the All Star season. Additional tournaments may be added at the discretion of the team manager. At the individual team manager’s discretion, practices may be scheduled for every day during the week. All Star players are expected to make every reasonable attempt to participate in all team practices throughout the All Star season.
  • Participation in other activities (i.e. other sports, family vacations, etc.) that will directly conflict with an All Star player’s ability to give 100% commitment to her All Star softball team is not acceptable. Prior to accepting an All Star nomination, a choice must be made by the player and parents as to which activity is the most important. If All Star softball is determined to be the most important activity, full and complete participation is expected and required.
  • Players are not guaranteed any specific playing position on an All Star team, nor are they guaranteed any playing time.
  • Participation on an IVGSL All Star team involves travel. As a member of the All Star team, the player’s parent or guardian is responsible for all travel, overnight accommodations, and meals associated with these events. Participation on an IVGSL All Star Team involves a minimum financial commitment of $200 per player. These fees will cover the cost of Uniform (2 jerseys, 2 pants), 3 invitational tournaments, the District Championship and State tournament (league will pay registration). Teams will have fundraisers to help reduce the cost. NO REFUNDS will be given.
  • Every player must participate in 75% of practices and games during the regular season in order to be eligible to participate in All Stars.
